I just took a second to scroll through those classmates who have passed away and was shocked to learn of the death of Carolyn Childs. How in the world did I miss that? What a girl she was! She was one of the two Carolyns who were bridesmaids in my wedding! How do you lose contact with someone so close? I did reach out to her years ago when I heard she was going to be married, but who knows how long that's been? She was such a light, such a fun carefree girl with amazing parents. I'm sorry she's gone from us.

 I lingered over Mike's comments about Carrell, and it broke my heart. The first question, of course, is why? Lots of answers to that one, but in the end there's no reason to know why, only that it happened. Someone important said, "Every man's death diminishes me," and I would add, especially those who shared daily life with us in an era when communication, unlike today, many times included looking eyeball to eyeball.  Mike, my heart goes out to you in what was apparently a very deep and personal loss.

Can't wait to see you both. Please help us to further get the word out about the reunion. We want the whole gang there!
